This study involved developing conceptual redevelopment scenarios for South Main Street. The intent was to establish a clear understanding of the surrounding context, illustrate opportunities and possibilities for redevelopment scenarios and in turn provide strategic guidance for future planning and development efforts that align with the Complete Community directives articulated in Our Winnipeg (the City of Winnipeg’s Official Community Plan). The study resulted in identifying several infill building sand redevelopment opportunities. Whether a direct or indirect result of the study, the corridor has seen a recent uptick in redevelopment activity, with the ongoing refurbishment of the Fortune Block and recent completion of the Scott Block.
